Good mexican. Chimichangas not the normal but VERY VERY TASTY, had a special white cheese sauce that made this dish pop! Tamales also good. CONS The children's menu chicken fingers (I know not a mexican dish, but a restaurant needs to excel on every menu item) had an dried out off flavor.

My wife and I go to this restaurant fairly often. I freely admit that my reviews for a restaurant are often influenced by price but the food here is really quite good and the price is excellent. The restaurant is small and informal. The service is good and we never have to wait for a table. The food has been consistently good over the many times we have been there.

We found El Ranchito by accident. We were running errands one day and came upon this restaurant. Unfortunately they were closed. We vowed to come back when they were open and glad we did! My Fiancé ordered the beef enchiladas and I ordered the chicken chimichanga. We were pretty impressed with the service...(thank you Gianni)!! Joshua, the manager was all over the place, making sure everyone was happy or in need of anything. Thanks for the extra customer care Joshua!! The food arrived hot and was delicious! We are pretty picky and left completely satisfied. It's nice to have El Ranchito here in Spring Hill. We will definitely be back!

With better than average Mexican food, quick friendly service and very low prices, we were pleasantly surprised at this shopping center end-unit. The Chili Rellenoes were some of the best we've had in a small family restaurant. And to answer a couple of recent complaints, the A/C worked fine, and we both got guacamole and salad with our entrees (#27 and #33). The ambiance is weak, otherwise we'd rate this place a 5. We'll be back!

Very good Mexican food. Awesome fajitas! Only reason I'm giving 4 stars is bc the place has basically no A/C. If you go during the summer it's muggy and hot.

We ordered Taquito's, a chimichanga and a super burrito - all were beef and all were supposed to come with guacamole. We received all three items and realized they did not have guacamole. They then told us they were out. After they had served us our food of course. The beef is not specific in the menu and is a cheap ground beef (probably frozen) not shredded as in most Mexican cuisines. I personally had the super burrito and it comes with a white sauce that someone said pop's it was almost flavorless and I had to add Valentina hot sauce which is not very good hot sauce but I needed some flavor. I will not be going here again and recommend that you also do not go. Unless you like white trash Mexican food that is far from authentic.

This is not the Old El Ranchito. Give this place a try again. Ask the owner for the spicy green salsa, it is delicious. Uber spicy. The cheese dip is also very good. We enjoyed the Fajitas El Tampico, delish. It comes with steak, chicken, chorizo and shrimp with a tasty glaze. I am so glad we tried this place again. Best Mexican food in town.

My daughter, and I went here for a late lunch. They normally close from 2pm till 4pm I believe. We arrived at almost 2pm. I asked if we could still get lunch, and they said yes. We had the place to ourselves immediately we received the Salsa, and Chips, then my daughter asked for Queso. She said it was the best she ever had. We had a short wait then our meals arrived. Everything was pretty good. It could have used a little more seasoning, and a little more cheese. Regardless, I enjoyed it. The person waiting on us told us it is owned by the same people who own the Mexican restaurant on Trouble Creek in New Port Richey, I thought that place had horrible food. I will definitely go here again. I am still looking for the perfect Mexican Restaurant.

A bit disappointed, Volcano was 25.00 and I was not impressed with the taste. Service was ok. Will be back!

I LOVE their chimichangas. I have only been here twice, and both times at lunchtime but they're absolutely the best local to me. The staff is nice, the food is good, and I will definitely be back.

I am from a Mexican border town. This place is below average. Stick to seafood in Florida. The wait staff was sweet. This post is based on the food.

Ordered take out on the way home from work. Most of it was okay. I had enchiladas which were semi bland I don't even remember what my husband had. The highlight was the tamales. They were spicy and meaty. I don't know if that alone is enough for a return visit.

Reviews looked good so we tried lunch! Friendly service but food was bland, not Mexican food that I ever had. Sauces were also very bland with a sour tomato taste. Won't go back & recommend eating elsewhere if you like spicy mex

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
